DIY 12.8 V 60 Ah LiFePO4 pack: 4S4P 32140 cells (15 Ah) and a 4S 100 A BMS
🧰 Starter build: made to be remixed. Open your own copy, change it (another battery, a brighter LED, your own idea), and publish your version: it links back here, and it’s yours.

A big 12 V battery from cylindrical cells: sixteen 32140 LiFePO4 cells (3.2 V, 15 Ah each), four in parallel to make 60 Ah, four of those groups in series to make 12.8 V: 768 Wh, enough for a 12 V fan and lights for several nights, or the house battery of a small solar kit. A 4S 100 A BMS (Daly-type) watches each group through its balance wires: it stops charging at 3.65 V a group, cuts the load at 2.5 V and opens on a short. The 60 A main fuse sits right at the BMS output. Build notes: match the cells first (same voltage to within 0.02 V before you join them), join each parallel group with nickel strip or busbars, never solder to the cells, and keep the balance wires in order: B−, then 1, 2, 3, 4 up the stack. Cells sold under brands like Tipsun come in 15 Ah; check the real capacity with a tester before you build.

⚠️ Mains wiring, big batteries and solar arrays can hurt you. Comments are other makers’ experience, not checked by the lab: check advice against the datasheets and your local electrical code, and report advice that looks dangerous. Be kind: community rules.
