Low-voltage disconnect (12 V, 30 A)

Batteries & cells · Cut-off + hysteresis

MOSFET battery protector · Lead-acid: off 10.5 V, back on 12.0 V · 10 s delay · 30 A

Low-voltage disconnect (12 V, 30 A) on the simulator's bench

Try it on the benchThe lab drops it on an empty bench and opens its datasheet card.

Typical part: 12 V battery protector / low-voltage disconnect, 30 A (MOSFET switch)

Ratings and limits

SwitchN-MOSFETs in the positive line, about 2 mΩ, 30 A continuous
Cut-offthe load goes off when the battery stays below the cut-off for the delay (default 10 s, so a motor start does not trip it)
Reconnectthe load comes back only when the battery rises above the reconnect voltage (the hysteresis) and stays there 30 s
SettingsLead-acid: off 10.5 V, back on 12.0 V · Lead-acid, gentler: off 11.5 V, back on 12.8 V · LiFePO4 12.8 V: off 12.0 V, back on 13.0 V · Li-ion 3S: off 9.6 V, back on 11.1 V
Own currentabout 1.5 mA on, 0.6 mA off: it slows a flat battery’s drain, it does not stop it
Not for chargersit is for loads: a charger on OUT+ would be switched off with the load

How to use it

Over-discharge protection without a full BMS: between a 12 V battery and its loads (lights, fan, inverter input under 30 A). Set the cut-off for the chemistry.
