Perfboard
Prototype board 24 × 18 holes · 2.54 mm pitch · FR-4, plated through-hole pads on both sides · no strips: holes connect only where you solder · showing the front (component side)

Try it on the benchThe lab drops it on an empty bench and opens its datasheet card.
Typical part: Double-sided prototype board, plated through-holes (e.g. 7 × 9 cm, 24 × 30 holes)

Ratings and limits
| Pitch | 2.54 mm (0.1 in) |
|---|---|
| Pads | plated through-hole, tinned, both sides |
| Connections | none: every joint is soldered by you |
| Pad current | ≈ 1–2 A per pad; a solder bridge ≈ 10 A; 22 AWG jumper 7 A |
How to use it
Put parts in from the front, bend the leads, flip the board and solder. Join neighbouring pads with a solder bridge, short runs with bare tinned wire, longer runs with insulated hook-up wire. Two holes are only connected if you join them.
