Ratings and limits
| R at 25 °C | 10 kΩ |
|---|---|
| B constant | 3950 K |
| Max current | 10 mA |
How to use it
R = R25 · e^(B(1/T − 1/298)). As a sensor: a divider with a 10 kΩ resistor into an ADC. As an inrush limiter: cold it limits the switch-on surge, then heats up and drops to a fraction of an ohm.
Lessons and builds that use it
- Inrush limiting with an NTC
- 65 W USB-C PD charger from scratch: mains flyback (UC3844, 800 V MOSFET, PQ2625 transformer), TL431 + PC817 feedback, PD controller (build)
- Real device: phone charger, 220 V AC wall to 5 V USB (build)
- Real device: laptop charger, 220 V AC wall to 20 V with PFC (build)
